WHO IS PARIS B?
Paris Brummer is South African photographer from Johannesburg, now based in Cape Town.
Being born in Johannesburg and having studied in Cape Town, she enjoys combining the differences each city offers into her work, whilst also finding new ways to understand what makes both cities work.
She aspires to use her love for photography to change the way we normally perceive our crazy, vibrant, confusing and intricate world. She hopes to not only document how she sees the world, but also in turn help to better understand her fellow human race and the relationships we create with people, objects, places and memories.
Paris tries not to take her photography too seriously, but rather to expose the fun behind the image creation process. Some of her favourite things include Japan, Brutalist Architecture, Lady Gaga and Pixar animation. Whilst her list of dislikes range from flat AA batteries, instant coffee to bad movie sequels and diagonal rain.
Paris is also a co-founder of Cape Town photographic collective, ‘studio Miru’
